I have been having this pain on and off all day long. It's like a sharp, pinching pain in my lower left pelvic area. Could it be a cyst, is it my colon, maybe? I've had pain like this before, but not as acute as I'm feeling today. If it's still around tomorrow I am thinking about getting it checked out, only I doubt the doctors will do much to figure it out.
I guess I'm just wondering if a cyst is even possible while on the pill?

It is possible, though in theory, if you're on one of the anti-androgenic pills it shouldn't happen. I have always had a sharp pain in my left ovary, and get it constantly bcp or no bcp. It is weird. Going for a lap in 2 weeks as I may have endo, so perhaps that is the reason for me. Can you link the pain to any activities/what you eat etc? It can be helpful to monitor this. If it is simply pain you get, I would speak to your doctor, but as you say, often they don't know what to suggest.
I don't know what pill you're on, but is it any good for PCOS? I am on Yasmin and find it has reduced my pain but not completely. However it is better than other slightly more androgenic pills.
Ashley, I'm on Diane-35, which has anti-androgenic affects. I can't link the pain to anything - but I've also been seeing a gyno for possible endo, but she now thinks it's adenomyosis. I have not had a lap for it, but I think there will be one in my future.
If you live in the states, I don't think Diane is available there, so most american cysters are on Yaz like you. I don't know what to make of the pain today, it's still there, but different. Not as sharp, but I feel like it's affecting a larger area.
Thanks for replying!

Hi, I am from the UK, Diane 35 is called Dianette over here. I have been on it twice before, once pre-dx PCOS and then to treat PCOS. For me I just couldn't handle the depression and weight gain I got both times, plus by ovaries felt like there were shards of glass in them constantly! It was different on Desogen/Marvelon, which I used for a few years, and didn't have so many problems apart from some moody blues in the 3rd week!
For me, Yasmin, because of it's equal balance of oestrogen and progestogen, it just ssems to make me feel better. I don't do well on higher oestrogen pills, nor have I succeeded with the progestogen-only pill! It is very tricky to find the right one, but I am glad you will be seeing your specialist soon! xx
