I've been looking for an answer to this question for a good while. I Keep hearing different answers from different people. So I really would be very grateful if I could get my hands on a well researched accurate answer!

(or if anyone has personally asked they're endocrinolgist that'll work too
Do the cysts in our ovaries EVER go away ? (in the absence of someone surgically going in and removing them.)
I've had several people tell me "yes yes" and then an ultrasound technician told me "no" so I'm really quite confused at the moment!
Can one get rid of them ? and how exactly would that be done ? Do they just shrink away when you go on metformin/get your insulin resistance under control ? or do you need to go on birth control pills ? or do you need to take progesterone or what ?
The last time I had an ultrasound I was told I had 20 small cysts in each ovary.
At the moment I'm on a low carb diet and I got my period last month, so I think (well hope!) that I am ovulating (and not just forming more cysts) so I think my hormones should be ok from 'that' perspective...but I heard that once you have cysts in your ovaries then just continue producing extra hormones (in addition to what you're normally producing) and can give you a high testosterone level etc (which I think I still do have.)
I don't know if anybody might be able to shed some more light on this stuff for me ? What are my options ? Will I just have to be on spironolactone for life to keep my testosterone levels normal ??!
