My Mood: Points: 4,138.93 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,138.93 | Do I have endometriosis? Recently I have begun to wonder whether or nor I have endometriosis. I got some books from the library to read up on it and I seem to have a lot of the symptoms. I suffer from:
PMS
Back pain
Bad period pain that painkillers and the pill do nothing for
Occasional IBS
Painful Bowel movements during my period
Painful sex
Pelvic pain
What do endo sufferers think? Where can I get more advice? Any good websites? Do you think I have it?

The best way to find out is to see your doc. Unfortunately, the only way they can truly diagnose endo is through a laparoscopy - ultrasound will not show it. I just had one a month ago, and it honestly wasn't bad at all. She lasered out most of it and I've been feeling better most of the time.
Good luck!

DX June 2002 as diabetic. Argh!
DX February 2003 with endometriosis.

Glad to be here among those who understand! |

You must go and get an appointment with your gyno and suggest they book you in for a laparoscopy.
If there is anything else you would like help with or to ask questions then just e-mail or pm me. I'd be glad to be of help.

My Mood: Points: 4,138.93 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,138.93 | I've booked an appointment with my gyne for April 1st. I wish it was sooner cause right nwo I am suffering with very bad ovary pain. It hurts and I've run out of iboprufen.
I've looked everywhere for a good endo quiz but can only find one on a stupid website with a description of some girl's symptoms. Anyone reccomend any good sites?

I was wondering if I can have it also. I have no pain or symptoms, I don't even have periods. My ultrasound is clear. What made the doctor suspect you had it.

My Mood: Points: 4,138.93 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 4,138.93 | I'm waiting to see my doctor, he didn't suspect it. It's just that my periods have been getting more and more painful and I was at the library and something led me to pick up 2 endo books. I'm reading them and seem to match the symptoms.
Right now I've got real bad PMS even though I am on the pill

My Mood: Points: 84,314.46 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 84,314.46 | Some women don't have pain with endo.
Others do.
The main symptoms of endo are...
Heavy,clot fill periods.
Severe cramping.
Infertility
Bladder issues.
For me though it went into another form of endo called Adenomyosis. It attacks the uteris and causes pain 24/7.
I found info on regular endo while searching info for bladder issues. After having a urologist rule out issues in his end, I made an appt with a GYN surgen. By this point I had a CT scan, IVP scan 2 vag ultra sounds and lots of blood drawn.
The CT showed possible fibroids and a reverted uteris.
But I was still peeing blood tissue. This is how I went to a urologist. I asked him about endo. He couldn't answer. But after that precedure he suggested a GYN and for me to follow my hunch.
I took all the test to the surgen and he odered the Lap.(surgery to DX endo)
All went good.
DX stage 4 endo (worse kind to have)
Adenomysis(form of endo that attacks the uteris muscle wall)
Severe scar tissue binding tubes to the bowel!!
So gee, no wonder I have so much pain!
But the surgery is right around the corner now and I'm looking forward to a healthy recover and a future pain free life!!
SEVERLY PAINFUL PERIODS ARE NOT NORMAL LADIES!!
BUT YES, I HAD TO DO THE RESEARCH MYSELF!
I am the one who suggested endo to the surgen.
So yes, I DX myself, again. He just gave the "official" dx.
Good luck to all!
Patty
