Default Do I have it?

I recently came across a post on POCS, and about some of the symptoms and am wondering if I might have it. I realize that you are not doctors, nor am I asking you to be them! I just want some input maybe, to calm my nerves.

I'm 20 years old. I had my period young, like in grade 5. My face has always been oiley, I just thought nothing of it. I used to be on medication for acne, but now just deal with it. It's nothing terribly bad, I just use over up. But I can go into the washroom at noon and can put a brown piece of paper towel to my face and have it come away darkened with oils.

I have hair on my knuckles and on my big toes. I've always just thought I was hairy. My arms are hairy too. I'm dark haired, and theres a fine covering of hair on my stomache, as well as on my upper lip. I also have "side burns" I shave my arm pits every morning. I also have the dark hairs on my boobs/nipples. They are quite thick, and sometimes really hurt to pull out.

I used to think that I would just have to deal with these things, that it was all normal. But now I'm wondering if maybe its an imbalance?

*Edit to add*

I also have excessive sweating. My arm pitts can soak through a shirt throughout the day. And my palms randomly get so sweaty that I can't open doors or touch a piece of paper without leaving a mark.

I would get your hormone levels checked by the doctor. Get them to check your Testosterone, Free Androgens and your LH/FSH ratio. These should help give you an indication if you have PCOS

I agree! And you might want to go to the book store and at least flip though a book on PCOS or check one out from the library -- the information might help you to know what question to ask when you have your doctor's appointment to find out. And really a doctor's appointment is what you really likely need to find out - not depending on strangers with no medical credential that you encounter on the net to diagnosis you. From what you describe PCOS sounds like a possibility (and asking a doctor to investigate that possiblity would likely be an excellent start regardless of what you actually have) but again the diagnosis needs to be made by a proper healthcare professional (I would prefer a medical doctor) - one thing about the diagnosis of PCOS it is supposed to be made when you have a certain set of symptoms (likely identifed by bloodwork plus personal history & physical examination) AND when all other possibities have been excluded.
