Smile Do I really have to give up carbs?

Hi I have two main questions! First off I am a newly diagnosted thin cyster who is not IR, not trying to lose weight, just trying to get pg.

1) If you do not have side effects with Met, do you have to still cut carbs? In other words, it is it bad for your liver or kidneys to still eat them or it's just related to side effects?

2) I did experience some major stomach cramping yesterday (this is my 3rd day at 500 mg.) What is safe for me to eat? Can I eat whole grain bread or brown rice or just really no carbs at all? I eat really healthy already but I can't imagine never eating any carbs!!! They are in almost everything!

Any advice would be appreciate since I am really stressed out about having to give up chocolate right now! I know in the end it will be worth it but man that sounds so rough.

I believe most people eat low carb because they are either trying to lose weight or are IR. I'm not sure why you would chose to go low carb if you do not have those parameters.

If you are looking for a diet where you could eat carbs you may want to try Southbeach Diet or the IR diet.

I am IR and on the working on weight loss and I eat carbs. Not as much as I used to. I work at McDonald's and trust me I could eat french fries everyday but I don't I actually try to limit it to less than once a week. I eat sandwiches almost everyday though. I try to keep the carbs low but cut them out entirely never its actully not healthy to not have any. As for sweets chocolates and the like I try to stick with healthy sweets fruits can work wonders. I also chose to take Viactiv chocolate calcium supplements instead of pills for my calcium partly to help with the sweets cravings I get 2 chocolates a day and it really does help I wasn't sure it would.

As for what can you eat while on gluc/met it all depends some have problems with a lot of things others have none. Some have problems with this some have problems with other things. Just keep an eye on what you eat and if you have side affects after eating.
