Do overweight moms to be get pregnent looking bellies?
I've lost 50 pounds since starting metformin but I am still around 280 pounds and 5'7 and feel kinda silly but kinda wanna pregnant belly bump when I get that far along. Seeing pregnant women all around me at work kinda feel a lil jealous. I mean I already look like I have a bit of a pregnant belly because of my weight but it's obvious that I am overweight and all. So any one else an overweight mom to be far along enough to say if we do get a nice rounded baby belly?

I'm only 11 weeks and I look more like I'm 6 months pregnant! Most of my 'fluff' is in my stomach and butt anyways.
There is a mom at my DD's school that is about the same number of weeks I am. She's a young, little skinny thing and already has 2 kids. Anyways when we were talking one day I asked her how far along she was and then she asked me and right away the eyes went to the belly. She's like still wearing her size 2 jeans (makes me sick).
And to top it all off, I've already gained 7 lbs and I still have a LONG way to go.
I'm hoping I'll look more pregnant than fat or I may just have to get one of those maternity shirts that says "BABY" with an arrow on it or something.

Everyone has a different body and carries the baby differently.

I weighed 275 when I got pregnant with DD. I am about 5'6 and wore about a size 24 at the time. I started showing about 15 weeks and could make no mistake about the baby in my belly at about week 25. I remember I was about a week before my due date and a sales woman commented on how tired I looked and asked if I was having twins b/c I was so big. I laughed and said "nah I was just fat when I got pregnant..." She kinda looked shocked that I said it but she laughed too when she realized I was not offended...
I never had the perfect round belly like thin women do...I had what you call a b belly...but I wore maternity pants so it rounded my belly off To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I think it depends on how you carry your weight. A coworker of mine was quite overweight when she got pregnant and even by the end she didn't have a nice round baby belly, it looked more like a bigger belly roll, sorta like the letter "B" like the PP said. But everyone is different, you never know!

I was about 295 when I got pregnant and am currently just about 15 weeks. I definitely carry my weight in my stomach and have that traditional 'B' belly. Well, over the last two weeks I've definitely been noticing changes. At first it was only when I'd lie down or just the lower part of the 'B' feeling firm, but now I'm noticing the indent between the upper and lower 'bumps' is starting to push out. Something that never happens, no matter how much I weigh.
So if I'm starting to change at a good 20lbs heavier than you, have faith that you should too. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I'm an overweight cyster too, currently 247lbs. I started to look pregnant around 18-20 weeks. But now everyone who knows me can tell. It's round, but at the very bottom I still have my *apron*. But with the maternity shirts and all, know one can see that part. I just look preggers! I'm sure you'll get your preggo belly. It just will take longer than slim women.

This was me pg with my dd at 35w2d. Most people didn't guess that i was pg - just fat until very near the end of my pg. My dd was born quite small though so don't think i was nearly as pg as i could have been!
i was around 290 and 5'8 when I got pregnant, now I'm 315 and at 28 weeks, I still have that B belly, it dosent seem to be going away just everything seems to be expanding, but with the maternity pants and the maternity shirts they tend to make you look preggo, heres me at 26 weeks

Thank you guys! It's also a relief to know that I am not the only one curious about this and that my baby belly will show up one way or another. =)

I was 196 when I got pregnant and 207 at delivery. I am only 5'0 though so not a lot of room for the weigh to go! I was so afraid I would never look pregnant but I did. I started showing around 20 weeks and got a huge belly by the end of it all. I think because I'm short and have a short torso, my belly went out more instead of up and down.
This is when my belly really started to pop around 20 weeks:

I'm 5'4" and currently 289lbs. I was 249 prepregnancy. I clearly look pregnant. To people close to me, I think I started looking pregnant around 22-24 weeks. To everyone else, around 30 weeks and I seemed to pop out even more after 32 weeks.
