Default Do personality factors affect response to clomid?

I was having a conversation with a very well read person a few days ago..and he was of the opinion that personality factors affect the effectiveness of clomid..and he had to say that 'stressful personalities' do not respond to clomid.

i asked him what he meant by stressful personality and his description almost outlined me! people who get stressed easily and overeact to simple situations...there are pople who live in difficult conditions but are yet able to concieve because of their balanced personalities whereas there are people like me who have no obvious stress in their lives ,yet are stressed by almost everything!

also, lack of response to high doses of clomid opens doors to ovarian cancer he said!

i am under immense stress right now as i am getting ready for my 2nd round of clomid.

is there any truth in what he said?

Zee-I've not heard of the "personality" connection before. I do know that I am a very high-strung person that lives with a ton of stress each day and can't seem to let go of it. My husband puts it that I "worry and over-analyze" everything. I did not respond to my first 50mg of Clomid, but this month I responded to 100mg. I would be curious to know if there is a connection.

Baby dust...

hey cat!
I can very well identify with you...my husband too tells me that i am a "Bag of Emotions"

and i was thinking...maybe it is not personality directly , but stress i believe does play a role in infertility..maybe that way it is connected!

it was encouraging to know you responded to 100 mg of clomid...i have started taking provera just today to induce Af and will be starting 100 mg on cd3.

cheers!

Zee-
I have to laugh at my DH because he tends not to get upset with anything and I'm the one running around stressing myself out like crazy. Of course he thinks that this entire conception procedure is better than sliced bread with all the BD'ing...lol!!
I've been told over and over to calm down and not think about it, but I would have to say that is a lot easier said than done. I'm thinking that's why my BP is so elevated these days, in addition to the PCOS...double whammy!!
My BP and cholesterol were just fine when I was on BCP's, but since July they have gotten out of hand.
My doc was considering Met with next month's Clomid, so hopefully if we didn't catch the eggie, he'll procede as he planned.
I did start the low-carb and have lost 10 pounds in the first week, but I really don't want to lose anymore or I'll look like a zombie walking around.
Best of luck to you with your next round of Clomid, and keep me updated on how you're doing. The only side effect that I really had was extreme fatigue.
Baby Dust to you!!
