Default Do you grill?

I love grilling especially in the summer! Some of my favorite things to grill are different types of bbq chicken (my most recent was an Asian Honey BBQ Chicken) and lots of veggies like corn, zucchini, summer squash and asparagas!

Anyone have any favorite recipes for summer grilling?

Joyanna... the Asian Honey BBQ Chicken was really simple to make!

For the Sauce you just mix together these ingredients
1 Cup of KRAFT Honey BBQ Suace
4 1/2 tsp Soy Sauce
1/2 tsp Ground Ginger
1/4 tsp Garlic Powder

As far as the chicken... the recipe calls for 16 chicken drummettes (about 1 1/2 lbs). When I made it I used chicken breasts though.

The drummettes take about 15 mins on a med heat grill... just turn and brush with the sauce occasionally.

The actual recipe and nutritional info is on the 'Just Add BBQ' Blog if you look under the recipes for chicken

For my veggies I usually add some olive oil, salt, pepper and grill them in foil. I also love to cook veggies on kabobs skewers.

Hope I answered your questions

My husband I and love to grill!

Some of our favs:

Burgers - i buy the lowest fat meat I can and mix different stuff in such as: ranch dressing & seasoning salt, BBQ sauce & Parmesean Cheese, teriyaki sauce & a dash of seasoning salt... i could go on

Pork Chops - pierce with a fork, sprinkle with Lawry's & Worchestershire, let sit for 30 min then grill

Fish - usually talipia, sprinkle herbs on before grilling & top with homemade mango salsa

Wish I could get better at grilling chicken though, it is never as tender as I want it to be. The last time I used boneless skinless thighs, pounded them really thin. They were tender but didn't have enough flavor from what I put on it.

Cool Thread!

Nice What kind of veggies do you have growing? One day I am determined to have my own vegetable garden too! For some reason they just taste so much better fresh of the vine!

You ever make veggie kabobs?

I LOVE grilled food! I don't have any favorite recipes. I marinate the meat in whatever is in the fridge (salad dressing, rubs, etc), and throw a variety of veggies on the grill (yesterday I grilled leeks sprayed with olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt.) The leeks tasted so good with the steak.

I've never grilled salmon, but I think that's next for me.

Salmon is great on the grill! I'm glad that you have decided to give it a try... any idea what type of sauce you will grill it with?

An tasty and easy sauce to make for grilling salmon is to mix a 1/2 cup of KRAFT Original BBQ Sauce with 2 Tbsp. Brown Sugar along with 1 sliced Green Onion.

For grilling directions they've got the actual recipe at justaddbbq.com in the seafood section, it's just called 'BBQ Salmon'.

I'm first going to use some salmon filets I've had in my freezer that are already seasoned. Assuming I don't overcook it, I'll venture into my own marinades...

(I have a tendency to overcook EVERYTHING on the grill...especially chicken)

Most stores now sell grilling planks made a various types of wood. Cedar planks are great for grilling salmon. All you do is soak the plank in water for an hour or two before you grill. Prepare the grill as you normally would. Put the fish on the plank and put the plank on the grill. The plank will produce lots of smoke to infuse the fish and in just 10 minutes or so you end up with really smoky fish like it has been in a smoker all day.

One of my favorite ways to make plank fish is to make a topping from a little mayo, dijon mustard, toasted mustard seeds, and fresh dill. Mix all ingredients together and top the salmon with it. This will help absorb the smoky flavor into the fish.

One thing that we do is boil the chicken before grilling it. It is already cooked but it still gets that grilled flavor. Our chicken was always really dry until we started doing this.

My favorite grilled meal is shish kabobs! I cut up steak and chicken and put them in a bag with some italian dressing to marinate. Then you can add whatever veggies you like. It smells so good cooking, that I consider that part of the treat! It's one of my family's favorite camping recipes.
