I love grilling. I cooked out Friday and yesterday. Friday I attempted to make Ka-bobs with chicken and beef, but it burned too hot and didn't cook real even and kept burning my stickers.
Sunday I did better when I tried again and it was SO good. I also cooked BBQ chicken in case it was a disaster. I put peppers and onions with the meat for the ka-bobs.
We mostly cook chicken, burgers and hot dogs on the grill. I haven't tried cooking too much veggies on the grill other then that and potatoes (but they're awful)

Sinnie, what kind of BBQ sauce did you use for your BBQ chicken?
I like to add a citrus juice to my BBQ sauce sometimes to add some extra flavor. Prefer concentrated lemon or orange juice.
I'm glad your kabobs came out great the second time. What did you put on them besides chicken and beef?
I did my grilling on Friday instead of Saturday because my neighbors usually come out on July 4th and use the grill. Decided to do it a day early so I can have the grill and pool all to myself and friends.
I feel silly but I absolutely hated anything BBQ up until a few years ago. I prefer KC Masterpiece (original) or Kraft Honey BBQ sauce. We used the honey one yesterday.
On the kabobs we had green, orange and red peppers, cilano peppers, red onion, and zucchini. I had some all chicken, some all beef, and mixed some with both chicken and beef. I didn't season them but might next time. Still they turned out delicious.

Don't feel silly about hating anything BBQ before. Our palate changes all the time. Your kabobs sound delicious. You had all of those flavors combined with your meat.....it flavored itself.
If you ever feel like experimenting with your own BBQ sauce flavors, KRAFT BBQ Sauce makes a great base sauce for adding your own touch to make your guest or family think you were in the kitchen for hours making the sauce.
I always have people wondering what I made. They even ask for my recipe, but I say its a secret .
LOL that's a neat tip. I love Kraft BBQ sauce. It's mostly what I use if I want a more sweet BBQ taste. KC Masterpiece original is best for a more sharper BBQ taste.
Yeah my palate has changed a ton since I started metformin a few years ago. Now I really hate sugary things (sometimes I crave it tons though.) Same thing with chocolate.
It's weird.

Sinnie-You had said that your skewers were burning. I also buy the wooden ones and Before I start putting all the good stuff on them I also soak them in water for about 30 mins. I never have a problem with them burning like the first time I ever made kaboobs. Lol!
That's a good idea! Last time I did it, I spread the coals out to almost being flat and that helped tons.
