For the last couple of days I have had the feeling that something is caught in my throat. Have any of ya'll had this feeling? It doesn't hurt when I eat or drink, I can just feel this lump like thing. It is driving me batty.
TIA

Thanks for your replies girls. It has stopped now, it lasted a couple of days and then stopped. I don't know what it is/was for sure. If it happens again I will go to the doc.
It was driving me insane. I think it might have been some sort of weird spasm. The weirdest part is I didn't feel it if I was swallowing food or water. It did this just when I swallowed my own spit. TMI
Thanks again for your replies.

I had that for years, even when i was little i refused to wear turtlenecks or anythign that was too tight around my neck. It was my thyroid, it got worse and was one of the reasons I pestered my docs for a sonogram. It turned out my thyroid was growing larger and that was making my neck feel pressure/occasional choking feeling (which led to dry heaving/vomitting).
id definately mention it to your doc.

Sounds like possible thyroid problems. I have hashimoto's & a goiter & have had the same symptoms but it's off/on.
Ohh my gosh! I thought I was losing my mind. I thought it was all in my head. I would especially feel like this when I went to bed. It felt like someone was applying a lil' pressure on my throat. This is such a relief. I haven't checked, but is the lack of a sex drive a symptom. Mine is completely gone. Gone I tell you. Nothing, zero, nada! I want it back. Anything?
I'm hyoperthyroid and I have it too, it can be an enlarged thyroid, a goiter or a nodule.
There are links or potential links between Thyroid dis/function and your pituatary gland which is responsible for Cushing's.
Now these are all endocrine disorders which is why so many people have a combo of thryoid problems, pituatary etc. Endocrine System if you look on the image that shows the links between the ESs in the body you may find that you have, or have had, problems with more then one of those areas.
I've heard this is a symptom of Hypothyroid although oddly enough I can't feel my own nodules or goiter that I have but my doc certainly can. I would recommend getting an ultrasound on your thyroid done to see what is causing this.
