Default Do you have the answer? PLEASE?????

I am experiencing a strange new symptom that is driving me crazy!!!!!! A dramatic change in texture of the hair on my head. I have always had extremely straight, very fine hair. If I curled it, within 5 minutes it would hang stick straight again. Well, now it is becoming very
wiry and curly!!! I used to have a hard time curling my hair, now I can't get it straight!!!!!

I think it's hormonally driven, but I'm not entirely sure. If it is, what is the imbalance? Too much or too little of what?? Also, my facial hair problem is getting worse. Is there a connection????

I would REALLY appreciate any thoughts you have on this. Thank you so much!

"Mystery Diagnosis" is a Discovery Health show. You can view the PCOS episode here:

My hair is doing the same thing. My hair looks fried and wiry and I hardly ever color or blow-dry!

mine does the same. naturally dark brown and wavy and thick. goes from being thin and hard to curl to curly with wires that are like pube curly and bright copper and black. they stick straight up and slide right out of the scalp from just putting conditioner through the hair.

Oh my God. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you. I just watched that PCOS video for the first time and cried all the way through it. Thank you, Wintermute, for posting it. It was my story, too. I learned a lot from it. I didn't know my skin tags were related to pcos, or the hyper-pigmentation on my skin. I suspected the change in my hair texture was related, but I wasn't sure. I had never heard of a connection until now.

Thank you, everyone.

A lady I work with had naturally curly hair that hung in ringlets until she had her uterus removed last summer. Her hair is now straight and just curls under. SHe says it is the change in hormones that caused it.
