yes ive got two dogs but they are at home with my parents, when i'm at university which is about 30 weeks of the year i miss them like crazy, i think having animals particularly dogs can help u to destress and be happier, i'd be interested to see what u find out.

Yes! We have two. From personal experience, it has helped me mentally, socially and physically. I am so glad too to be raising my son in a house with pets as I really think it will help him learn non-verbal communication skills which are so important.

I HAD a dog - a rottweiler named Coruba. I had to give him away when I moved overseas and I regret it and miss him sooo much. And I DEFINITELY miss him more when I'm sad, he always used to cheer me up

Yeah I take classes online right now and I live at home, but I will be transferring to a university once I get my AA and I'm so afraid of being without my dog. I literally cannot remember a time in my life when I didn't have one.
My dog went to the vet today and they said he was in great health and didn't "look or act" like an 11 year old dog. They also said his temperment was great. On Wednesday I am going to a consultation/evaluation to see if he can be a therapy dog. If all goes well, we may start volunteering at a nursing home that's down the road from where I live. I am really excited about all this. I think that it will help my own mental health in addition to the people we visit.
I have a kitty. She is one of the main things that has helped me through my PCOS. If my fiance and I ever brake up we will have to fight for custity of her. Getting a kitty was the best decision I could have made. The only regreat about it is all my furniture is getting ruinned from her clawing at it.
I have a baby (dog) and I can't imagine my life without her. I get depressed but at least I know I always have someone there for me who loves me unconditionally. She is an 11 year old Maltese. She's sitting laying in my lap right now. I am thankful for her every day of my life. She is such a little angel.

When I experienced a nervous breakdown in 01' is when I got my puppy. I treated her like my baby much like celebs do just on a lower budget. She's a great companion and very loyal. She helped me through alot. I love my puppy. She's a little hard for strangers to get along w/ but she is great!

I have a Siberian Husky. She is the furry love of my life and I take her up to my the nursing home my mom is in and they all love her. She is so good with kids, but a little energetic for the nursing home. She scares some of the people, but she doesn't jump on them. I keep her on her short lead when we go there. She listens really well and if someone wants to see her but is a little timid, I tell her to sit and be easy and she does. She's 4 and still loves to play like a puppy!
I have a Boston Terrier named Skippy. He's full of energy and love and me and my family love him right back! If you say "kiss me," he'll lick up your face! They definitely do make a big difference on a person's mental health! A positive one, that is!
