Hi, for the people who have been on clomid did you have to go through infertility testing if you had been dx with pcos? My dr. told me about clomid but said that my husband and I would both have to go through testing. It doesn't bother me at all but my DH is freaking out about the thought of it. Of course it would be worth it, but has anyone here been prescribed clomid and been covered by insurance without DH having to go through the testing since the reason for infertility is the pcos?

Normally docs make you take some basic infertility tests before prescribing Clomid. It would be pointless to take Clomid if your DH's spermies don't swim. Sometimes couples have more problems than just PCOs too. I have MTHFR and if my doc had not tested I would not know to take baby aspirin and folic acid and I would have many recurrent miscarriages. So testing is important. I am not trying to discourage you, but I would be wary of any doc who perscribes a med like Clomid without at least a little testing.

I didn't have to go through any testing. I wasn't having periods so that was an indication that I wasn't ovulating. I did get checked for insulin resistance (which I am). Clomid is commonly prescribes for that.
