No, i don't have this. i'm just very small, although, it's more than what i used to have - a couple of aspirins - before i went on the pill first time around (only long-term positive effect of going on the pill :-)

I had never heard of this until I went to my new doctor to get a definitive diagnosis of PCOS. When she was looking at the original bloodwork that the RE did, she said there were some things that were questionable and she was leaning more towards a diagnosis of Late Onset Congential Hyperplasia. Apparently underdeveloped breasts are an attribute to that disorder.
Oh my gosh! Everytime I come on to these boards I feel better and better! I TOTALLY have tubular breasts. I had absolutely no luck breastfeeding either of my children despite Lactation Consultants, Herbs, Reglan, Hospital Pumps...you name it, I tried it!
It is so funny, because I have said to my husband on several occasions that my breasts don't look like other womens. He is so great, he always says he doesn't notice, but how can you not notice long breasts??? LOL.
In reading about this, it seems like some are linking it to low progesterone, which I have always had.
Anway, thanks so much for posting this!!! It helped me more than you could know.

I too went to a doctor because one was so much smaller then the other and they just said that its normal for some women to have a-symetrical breasts. My left is more then a cup size smaller then the right.
Another big girl with A cup breast. I was able to BF my kids although I had less milk with DD than I did with DS. The first time it would squirt over his head, in his eye and up his nose. The second time around (8 years later) I barely had enough to feed her.
I got some inserts from Victoria Secret. They are silicone and really look realistic. When I first got them DH was upset because he's fine with them and feels it's false advertisement. I let him know that he's the only one that's gonna see the real things and he already knows they are small and it makes me feel better so I don't care what he thinks.

I do have tubular breasts, I've often wondered why my boobs are not round and shapely like other women's; mine are symmetrical and large (D cup), but longish and my nipples are large and dark. But luckily I was able to completely BF my DD eleven years ago. But anyway, I'm not really stressed by my breast shape, they are still my best body feature...

I'm really not sure on this. My breasts are both the same size but they are very large (42DD) and they are pendulous and somewhat flat. I always figured this was just because they are so large, but is something I will talk with my Dr. about next time I see her.
Mine are tubular but I had no problems breastfeeding and hope I don't have a problem next time, either.
FWIW my mother's are the same way and she doesn't have PCOS. I remember being horrified by her boobs because they didn't look like movie boobs... and then whaddya know, I got the same boobs.

I have hyoplastic breasts as well. I never got any engorgement after pregnancy. I never got to breastfeed either of my children.
I remember my 1st child was born at a catholic hospital & they were really gung-ho about BFeeding. They pumped my breasts until they bled! But nothing came out. The nurses acted like i was 'holding' the milk in somehow, LOL! I really wanted to breast feed too. They wanted to keep my DD on breast only, but I insisted that they supplement. I'm glad I insisted because I never made any milk.
