Default Do you have inconsistent monthly cervical mucus discharge?

Please help! I am having weird CM discharge that is making me even more confused. I know there isno rhyme or reason to PCOS, but this really puts a spin on things.

My DD was born 11/13/05
after the birth of DD, this is how my cycle days were:
Jan 8 - 41 days
FEb 18 - 37 days
MAr 27 -29 days (oMG it was normal!)
Apr 25 - 39 days
Jun 3 -38 days
Jul 11- day 48 & still going

I have had weird CM discharge this month that has been inconsistent to previous months. Here are the days I have had it:

CD 35, 36, 40, 41, & 47 (last night, just out of the blue during a normal pee cycle) TMI sorry.

Has anyone had issues with CM discharge that has no consistancy? I have to say, I was feeling some what use to knowing I would have a period every month since DD, and then this happens. I thought my body would be a little normal since prgnancy.

Oh, by the way, I took 2 dollar store hpts and both were negative. (1 was night urine and the other was 1st morning urine...so pregnancy is out.)

Please help!

I took metformin 850mg 2x daily until the last trimester, then I dropped to 850mg 1 a day...again, DD was fine and normal!

i've been getting that too, since i started met, so i think it's a side effect. but i'm too embarrased to ask my endo. but it's that mucus that i normally only get when i'm ovulating.

PCOS can definitely affect both cycle length & CM (this is how I found out I had it!) It is very possible in your case that your hormones changed after the pregnancy. You may experience cycle irregularity & symptoms that weren't there before or during your pregnancy. It may just be temporary until your cycles can adjust after the birth (if you are breast feeding, this may take longer) or it could be a more permanent situation.

If you aren't on medication right now you can ask your doc what is safe while breastfeeding. If he prescribes something it could shorten your cycles & give you better CM. If you are on the same meds you were before the pregnancy it may be that your hormones did change & the particular med is no longer effective for you. There are many things that might explain what is going on but it is best to just talk to your doc.

There are some natural remedies that women have found helpful for CM. You can find them in the Alternative Remedies forum on this board. Good luck... hope this helped!

Ive always had unusual CM patterns... im not sure if thats your question or not... before and after pregnancy my CM is more often than not fertile type... even when im not ovulating! it can be like that the majority of my cycle! its weird i and i dont know why its like that.
Im not on any meds so i guessed it was just a PCOS thing who knows!

I also have irregular CM discharge since the birth of my 2nd child. I guess I really don't worry about it much. I have an appointment with my doc tomorrow, maybe I should ask?

What I do remembre before I even knew I had PCOS, my periods had came further and further apart and when they did come they would last 1-2 months with me losing so much blood, like clots of it - in between these sessions I had TONS of CM discharge, my hormones are a bit more on the normal side now and the discharge is no longer existent....
