Anyone else notice too, if you've lost weight and gained it back or kept it off, that they don't shrink? They just get kinda saggy? I hate it!!!
Mine were never what you would call enormous, but when I reached menopause they started shrinking -- until both outer and inner lips sort of atrophied away leaving me very open underneath. Anyone else experienced that?
Actually, mine are practically nonexistent. When I stretch out my labia majora to examine my vagina, my labia minora are hardly visible. I also seem to have a rather small clitoris compared to some that I have seen in photos.
I do not have PCOS but I found this board through a general search on google about "large labia minora". I have them BIG TIME and I am so unfomfortable with it. I've been with my bf for almost 7 years now. He loves them but I hate them. I just feel sloppy looking and messy. Not neat and tight and pretty lol. Its nice to know that there are others out there. I actually met my best friend because we have this in common (drunken conversation about what we would have plastic surgery on) so i know we are out there but I didn't know it was so common.
OMG!!! I have this too! I knew people had it, but I didn't know it was linked to high testosterone levels!! Yeah, if it was just cosmetic, I wouldn't care, but it hangs out, and it hurts if I have an itch or something, cause then I scratch that, and it gets pulled a lot, and it's a pain. I keep trying to tuck it back in there, but it's hard. And here's the interesting part... it's only like that on one side... sounds hormone related to me!

well i heard that half of women have it long ones too but idk about it being uneven..

I took have one side longer than the other, but I've never had it get caught on anything or be in pain from it. I've never minded that its been long, but its sometimes annoyed me that they're uneven!

They are both long.. but one is longer than the other... it's never been a worry for me though... and never had pain or got twisted or anything.... I tuck them in if thyey come out which is kind of rare....
Never had complaints either.... altho my DBF said he's never seen that before... that made me a teeny bit uncomfy..... but then he said he loves it... n started playing with them (tmi sorry)... lol.. so hey... I don't know... seems like a good thing to me.. ha..
I do wonder though.. if they weren't so long.. would I feel sensations more during sex?

My labia minora are regular-sized, but I have fat outer (labia majora) lips and an enlarged clit. Sometimes they seem to grow or swell. I can tell when this happens because it'll feel like my panties have shrunk and I can actually feel myself sitting on them.
Being a heterosexual female, I have no way of knowing what other women look like. Therefore, I could only assume that either we all have this problem but no one's talking about it OR perhaps I'm in a small minority - meaning something might be wrong with me. My male OB/GYN insists that it is normal but I've still been skeptical, so I recently googled it and ran across a wonderful website showing a wide variety of women's reproductive parts. The pictures are all nude close-ups though, so it may be offensive to some viewers. However, it did help me feel better about my body by having something to which to compare it.

Your OB/GYN has undoubtedly seen so many different women that he's very much aware of how much variation there is in appearance. As I understand it, if your clitoris is no bigger than your thumb it's not likely to attract any attention and labia can vary from almost non-existent to inches-long and floppy. When you say they sometimes grow and swell, does that refer to the clitoris or to the labia as well? Is it under sexual stimulation or in any other way predictable? For that matter, when you say your clit is "enlarged", how would it compare, for example, to your thumb for size?

One of my exes also told me he'd never seen anyone with protruding inner labia. I thought it must be really rare or something, and it made me self conscious. But recently I was in a relationship with a man who'd really, really slept around, and he told me that in his experience, most women have longer inner labia, to some extent. Also, my gynaecologist told me that about half of all women do, if not more. (I suppose that includes the type of vulva where the clitoral hood is slightly visible even if the labia aren't, etc.) So I'm confused about this, as I have always been led to believe the standard vulva has a tucked in clitoral hood and inner lips.

LOL!! I had an ex tell me the same thing! he said he's never seen that before, but that he liked it. Go figure, because sometimes it gets pretty bothersome for me.
I've contemplated cosmetic surgery to change it, but I've learned to live with it. Besides the 50/50 chance of it affecting my sexual sensations is a 50/50 chance I'm not willing to take. Any loss of sexual sensation is too much of a loss in my opinion, so why knowingly do it to myself, when there is no real medical need for a cosmetic change.

When I say they sometimes swell, I meant my outer lips and clitoris. It happened the other night while I was driving home from school. Actually, I only notice it when I'm sitting down in normal settings (like at work, school, in the car, etc.), which makes me a bit uncomfortable because it never has anything to do with being sexually aroused. And it usually lasts for hours. It's like some days my body parts just decide that they're gonna play tug-o-war with my panties and the crotch of my pants, making them feel like they've shrunk and are ill-fitting. I have to keep wiggling around to get comfortable... the way you do when your undies are stuck in your behind.
Also, thankfully, my clitoris is not the size of a thumb, but about 1/2 the length of my 1st pinky digit - when excited. From your explanation, I guess it is average; however, both my ex-husband and ex-boyfriend had said that it was the largest they'd ever seen.
I have enlarged labia minora, I used to worry no end and then as soon as I started enjoying a healthy sex life it stopped bothering me. It would be good to know how many people this affects, just to be reassured that I'm not a freak. I've never mentioned to partners. My biggest problem is being seen standing naked, I avoid that situation! I wondered if you have persistent problems with infections such as thrush?
I don't think I have PCOS.

However, this article I read made it seem like the women who had this surgery were terribly embarrassed by their long inner lips...so much so that they were afraid to have sex. Hmmmmmmmmm....
So, how many women out there with PCOS have large inner lips? I'm curious now.
This is going to sound dumb, but i'm not real sure what the outer and inner means. I mean, I just have 2 lips down there..hehe. Nothing pokes out or anything. Maybe I am actually abnormal?
