Question Do you have a regular family type doctor?

I was curious to know if anyone had a regular care provider. For example, I have a gyn but I've never established a regular family type doctor to see. I just end up going to a urgent care type clinic if something minor comes up like the flu or whatever. Am I the only one?

I got a gp for regular health issues like cold and flu. Although he is clueless about pcos. Lucky mine gyne is treating me for that.

I have a family doctor that I go to for stuff... I don't get regular checkups, but I see him for sicknesses, aches & pains, etc. My OB/GYN treats me for PCOS, but my doctor keeps on top of my progress with that as well. I figure that it's good to have a regular doctor because he'll have ALL my history when stuff comes up, and I get the general vibe that he cares more than the walk-in clinic I used to go to.

Yes, I have both. I go to the regular doctor for the chest up and the gyne for the chest down.

I have a Nurse Practictioner for family practice type stuff, an OB/GYN for my yearly and anything unusual, and an Endocrinologist for the PCOS. I like having my regular NP there for little things that come up because I know and trust her.

I go to a family practice where there is one doctor for the major stuff and then a few physician assistants and a nurse practitioner. I go there for a lot of my aches and pains, cold stuff and they also give me my depression meds.

I also have a family doctor that I could see who's known my whole family for about 40 years so knew my grandparents, parents, siblings etc., but I don't see him really as there's a lady doctor I pref who helps me more and explains stuff better to me but it nice that he knows everyone and the family history. x

I have a nurse practioner that is great with pcos and speacializes in womens care, so I go to her for all my women's things. I just established a regular family dr far all my non women things.
My grandmother encouraged me to do this, as I never had a regular dr.

I have my regular GP for everyday stuff and another DR whose special interest lies with womens health/hormones. My regular GP would probably write a prescription for anything I asked for, but is clueless really about how to treat PCOS, so every couple of months I see my other doc.
