I had a baby in July and since then I tried to go on the pill again yasmin, and loestrin and they make me tired. Is it bad for me not to take the pill for pcos? Will it get worse? I have regular periods and midcycle ovulation pain like normal. I just am having a harder time losing the 15 pounds I need to lose. I am going to a endo in feb.
You don't have to and you shouldn't if it makes you ill. Jasmin will help with some of the symptoms of PCOS but it won't change the real heart of the problem.
Metformin helps some people. Talk to your doctor about alternatives.
I can't take any birth control pills.

I refused bcp for years and years. My main symptom was infertility and head hairloss. When we weren't ttc I did spironolactone with a copper IUD. I lost a ton of weight but got AF every 2 weeks too. Still, I elected to be thin. I had DD last winter (after the herb DCI only) and tried Nuvaring for a while. I didn't gain weight but the emotions ran wild and I chose to quit it. I'd rather bleed another 3 years than feel out of control of my mind.
So no, you don't have to. There are other ways to control PCOS: IR drugs/herbs (metformin, Byetta, herbs), anti-androgens (spiro, flutamide, mens drugs, saw palmetto but these are danger to fetus), and diet, spices (cinnamon, vinegar), there's a ton of ways to go about it.

Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.
No, pcos, generally speaking, is not an absolute reason to take BCP's. Many women (including myself) stay away from them like the plague (but it's worth pointing out that it does help many other cysters.)
