Hello! I did really well - a few days without starting a new thread!
The more I read, the more I see that Met has helped regulate quite a few ladies' cycles. When my GYN prescribed Met a few weeks ago, he also renewed my prescription for Norethindrone (Generic Aygestin, a progestin). I had been bleeding for a month when I got my prescriptions and he told me to go ahead and start both meds. I did and stopped bleeding for a couple days but have been brown spotting for a little over a week now.
I'm supposed to take the progestin for the first 10 days of each month. Shortly after that, AF should appear. Every time I've done this, it works, but from what I understand, the progestin only makes my body THINK it has ovulated. Of course, my body only thinking it has ovulated does nothing to help in the TTC department. lol
Now for the questions.
How will I know if Met is working to regulate my cycles if I'm taking something that mimicks ovulation already? If I start to chart again, will my temperatures rise while I take the progestins just as it would if I had ovulated? Do any of you take both a progestin/progesterone and Met?
I do have a prescription for Prometrium (progesterone micronized), but it was much more expensive than the Norethindrone. Is there a big difference in how my body would react between the two?
Thank you for any info you have!
