Question Do you think this will be a problem?

I really want to adopt a little girl but I would except and love a boy just the same. The thing is my house is a small 2 bedroom ranch house and I was guessing since my boyfriends son is going away to college it would not be a problem to tell them I would prefer a girl. But, someone said that the social worker will look at that and say that could be a problem because what if he wants to come home on holidays. I was thinking his grandparents live 2 streets away and have plenty of room he could use a room to sleep in at night and be here with us during the day. Do you think that should cause a problem? Someone told me I could adopt a boy because they could share a room and that would not be a problem.

I think it depends on your social worker really. Some might insist your bf's son have a room to come home to. Others might feel that since he is grown and moved out, it's not necessary. I'd say it's something to put to the social worker before actually hiring them and find out their thoughts on it.

Calantha- I was actually planning on going through the county and I don't think I would have much say in that would I? Or do you think it's better to go through an agency to find my own social worker?
