Sounds like doctors think that they're the only intelligent people in the world and that us patients can't possibly come up with a right diagnosis since we're not as bright as phycisians are. He thinks that I'm being over dramatic about my symptoms and only gave me a blood test to get me out of the room.

Does anyone know if your glucose levels can be normal with insulin resistance?
It depends on what you've eaten that day on what your levels are. I would go to an endocrinologist and have him do a glucose tolerance test which takes a few hours. That will tell you how well your body is using the sugar and insulin your body is producing. You might also want to have your thyroid checked.

I was told that by my ex mother in law all the time when I'd miss periods. I'd get my hopes up and then they'd be crushed. The funny thing is, the best doctors I'd found all across the country are Certified Family Nurse Practitioners. Regular docs are so arrogant and superior that it makes me want to do something illegal.

My doctor since childhood always ignored everything that was EVER wrong with me. Eat right and exercise were his solutions to everything, including when I started having signs of PCOS. When I actually mentioned the disease... he had no idea what I was talking about and told me I was fine and over exaggerating. -.-...

My new doctor, though he diagnosed the disease... has the exact same message for when I ask questions, even when they don't apply. Eat right and exercise. I DO both of those nearly religiously. It would be nice to find a doctor who would at least try to understand and ANSWER my questions. So far, I've been met with no care from doctors.... they don't take anything I say seriously, as though I'm making it up. It also doesn't help that my new doctor forgets who I am every time I come in.

Maybe it's time to look into a female doctor? You guys seem to find success with them more so than male.

well i'm getting retested(the first time my testosterone was normal but a lil high at 49, and then of course I told my doc that that test was taken while i was ON birth control pills and she said "yes def. too high" so i"ve finally found a doc that listens...(honestly i think it helps to be with a woman doctor) and I'm slightly IR but I have normal glucose...so who knows...
