my doc wants to put me on bcp's for 1 or 2 months, and then back on clomid. i've never heard of this, and was wondering if anyone has tried it or has had any success with it. i was concerned about it, but once he explained it to me it kind of made some sense. i just wnated to know if it had worked for anyone. i guess that will be my next move if this cycle is a bust.

I did this! It did work too. I had not had a period in over a year and went on ortho cyclen to cycle a few months. I then went directly on Clomid days 3-7 my first month off bc pills. GOOD LUCK! Baby dust to you!

the doc did this to me too. I was supposed to start clomid last week, but he found a huge cyst over my right ovary and prescribed the patch for the next month to see if it'll do anything. I'll let you know if it works!!
Regardless of what fert. treatment my RE had me on, he always had me take b/c between tries. The reason is the pills keep your hormones more or less where they should be, so that any potential eggies in there aren't exposed to crazy, fluctuating hormones. They say it produces better quality eggs.
Good luck to you!

really? maybe i'll give it a try. i was really scared of what bcps would do to my body (gain weight, mood swings, etc.). any way i'll discuss it further with him. thanks for the great info.

there is a phenomenon called i believe rebound ovulation... for example if you are on bcps for a while and stop... the chances of ovulating the first month is very high... its bc your body is getting a surge of natural hormones..it happens alot for non pcos girls who stop the pill and get preggo right off the bat..... i dont know how well it works for cysters..but a couple months is worth a try!! xoxo jenn

I was on bcp for 3 years, when we were ready to start TTC I got off and 6 months later was pregnant with twins. Was pregnant 3 times each time after stopping the bcp. Good luck to you
