Unhappy doctor messin' with my head

Im not sure if this should be in the rant section but I do know that I really need advice and some help after the doctors apt that I just came home from.

just some background information: I was dx in 2003, doc gave my a rx for marvelon and out the door. the marvelon21 seemed to stop working , after taking the last active pill it would take well over a week for me to get af, mid way into the first week of the new pack, and this what brought me to my new doctor and to this site for help.

I first got af when i was 13 and never had it more than 4 times a year and now i dont get af unless i am on birth control. Always had the brown patch on the back of my neck and chest (btwn the boobs) (told it was ance). Always had problems with facial acne and not get titne. Hair is thin and falling out on my head and growing out my chin, upper lip and chest. Was a never a skinny kid but not as fat as i am now. It is very very hard to lose weight and all i have to do is smell the golden aches to gain 5 lbs. My aunt had the wedge thing done when she was younger ( just found out from my mom) because she didnt get her period. Depression has always been a battle but never treated for and the anxity has gotten worse over the years. My family history is heart diease and g-dad has type 2 diabeties.

sooo now, as of this morning, my new doctor said " they said you had PCOS??!" in a very 'no you dont' kind of tone. blood work is normal now and the cysts are gone that i had in 2003. Came home upset because i accepted the dx and want to do something about it, and now im being questioned if i have it or not. I dont know if i shoudl go to a different doctor??, if i should have even been dx as having pcos?? and where do i go from here now??

Unless she had some other, reasonable diagnosis, I would go to another doctor. All of your symptoms seem to indicate PCOS - at least as far as I can tell - I'm not a doctor. See a reproductive endocrinologist - they're the only ones that really know what they're doing. I have several doctors - a GP, gyno, endocrinologist, gyno, etc and they all swore I didn't have it until the hair came out on my chin and my rhuematologist suggested I see someone for PCOS and I went to a repro endo got dx'd.( I had been researching for years and had read about the expertise of the repro's.) Then my other doctors acted like it was totally obvious. Remember - half of all doctors graduate in the bottom half of their class! : )
