The following is an excerpt from my blog, Diary of a Dreamer ~ Reflections on life with PCOS. I thought some of you might find it helpful, both for the book discussed, and if any of you are from Montana. Dr. Dunne (discussed below) practices at BitterRoot Natural Medicine in Missoula, Montana...
I am so excited!!! A few weeks ago I bought a book called The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertility by Nancy Dunn, ND (naturopathy doctor). It is very interesting, and I plan to use it as a guideline to getting my diet and body under control. The phases are extremely scary, for the simple reason that you can't have any grains or dairy! (That may be just the first phase, I can't remember off hand.) But now that I'm planning to do a gluten elimination diet, this is the perfect solution!
I went to 1st Way Pregnancy Center today, for a free pregnancy test. I didn't really believe that I was pregnant, but since I want to ask my doctor for Provera (or something similar), I figured it was a good idea to make sure.
Anyway, I am not pregnant...
While I was in the office, the girl who was volunteering today told me about a local naturopath whom she really likes, and who is affordable ($100 for an hour versus $172 for fifteen minutes!). When I got home I decided to look her up online.
I am so excited, and really hope I can get an appointment! I've been debating finding a new doctor anyway, not because I don't like Jamie Granger, but because I want a doctor who specializes in the issues I'm dealing with. The thought of seeing a doctor of natural medicine who does just that is...is... WOW!!!
Another source of interesting information I found today ~ Woman to Woman.

Oh, and if anyone is interested in reading my PCOS blog, here's the link. Also, if you choose to read it you'll need to message me with a request and your email address. Thanks!
I haven't actually started the diet, as we're operating on $50 for 2 weeks of groceries for 2 weeks. Hopefull this summer I'll be able to. I think I'm eating similar to it though - gluten free for the next month, to see if it helps my digestion. Thanks for asking!
I sent ou an invite to my blog. Enjoy!
