I was diagnosed with PCOS almost four years ago following the birth of my one and only son. I've always been treated by my OBGYN and wonder if (at this late date) if I should be using an Endo. instead? Does it make a difference? My only treatment (that hasn't helped at all) has been Metformin.
I guess the only reason that I'm bothering with wondering right now is that nothing's changed in 4 years... How long does it take before you start ovulating, the hair and acne goes away, and all the other junk we put up with? Do things ever get back to normal?
*sigh* I wish my first post wasn't put on here in frustration!
I would definately find an endo, especially if you have health insurance and it covers it. They are generally more knowledgable about metabolism issues than ob/gyns. You also don't know if there is something else afflicting you i.e. type II diabetes, etc...
Thanks for the advise. I think I already KNEW what I needed to do, but knowing and doing are two different things.
I'm glad I found this site. I've found some interesting posts, and I'm so happy to see there's humor here, not just the frustration and depression that can go hand in hand with PCOS.
