Doctor Questions Hi,
I'm new to the site, but I've been diagnosed with PCOS for about 2 years. I am having issues with finding a doctor who I feel is helpful. Currently, my doctor had me on Glucophage and Yaz--she says in July she's going to take me off everything to "see what happens". So far, if I'm not on birth control I have no period; my longest stretch was about a year. I have ridiculous weight gain ( about 100lbs in the last 4 years), and hair growth.
I'm in graduate school so I have next to no time for a solid exercise routine at the moment, and I can't afford to buy fresh meats and vegetables. The doctor said I should be on a 1000-1200 calorie a day diet, but I'm finding that difficult to follow. NOt so much the total calories, but counting them. Again, I'm really busy and I have to cook my food (its time consuming to figure out the calorie content of homemade pasta sauce, just an example).
I just want some answers or some recommendations as to what I can do to feel "normal" again.
Thanks! |
