Default Doctor in Richmond, VA

Hi There

My name is Nita and I have had PCOS since I was 10 years old. I been to several doctors they always put me on aldctone, bcp, amd metformin. I recently had gastric bypass surgery 2004 lost 120 pounds still working on it.

Well my major problem is now I am 28 years old have met someone and we will be getting married soon and I know we want kids and stuff. After my surgery I went to see a fertility specialtist who said I no longer had the cysts anymore but still kept me on the meds because I still had facial hair and weight issues. I am just so confused of I have PCOS still or what. This doctor just basically refills my meds doesn't do any real check ups and I want a new doctor.

I live in the Richmond, VA area if anyone knows of any good doctor's could please recommend me someone?

Thanks a bunch!

Me too!!! I have hypothyroidism and PCOS. I have been dealing with all of the side effects for years now. I was undiagnosed with both for 5-10 years. Needless to say I am untrusting with my doctors. I have seen a few and have never been completely satisfied. I stumbled on to this site looking for herbal remedies for PCOS my mom suggested. I am and have been on Levoxyl for a few years now. I also take 500mgs of metformin daily. I was just put on BCPs and what I found on here about them is discouraging to say the least. I need help all around. I need to know if I can take any suppliments with my thyroid condition and live to tell about it. I have been told no before, but I am still wondering, because I have been told too many wrong answers for too long. Does anyone have a magic doctor? I just want an MD that knows what they are doing and will explore every direction with me to find the answers I need and not just write a script so I will go away.
