I was wondering what to expect at my first doctors appointment with my fertility specialist?
Will he run tests if so what, and should I do anything to prepare myself?
how long after you were first seen did you get prescribed med's?
I am so antsy!!! I just wanna get some med's and get moving lol
please tell me your expierences so I know what to expect!!

My first visit to the RE, was alot of papaerwork and questions.. They didnt do any tests, just did a vaginal exam at first... Then they scheduled tests, and whatnot... GL!

First time i went to my RE, she had the referral from my dr that said she suspected PCOS. So she did a physical exam, all the blood work, went through my history and symptoms. I had to go back in a week to get my results and had an ultrasound. I wasn't there for fertility but she is a specialist in that field so i think the initial testing and visit is the same, the only difference is the treatment. She gave me options on the treatment that would be good for me and I got the meds by the second visit. Hope that helps a little

yeah I kinda figured he will do some tests before anything, but he knows I have pcos and I've had a gluclose test and I had a physical with my doctor so she could forward the results to the fertility specialist so he would have them when I got there.
What other tests do they do besides a physical and an ultrasound?
I am hoping that because he will have all my stuff that there wont be too many more tests to do!

Same as above for me, it took about an hour and a half and we talked mostly and he did an ultrasound...nothing major. Just be prepared with your list of questions.
