Hi I read your post about needing a good doctor in the DFW area. I'm not sure what area you are in, but I go to a doctor who works out of Presbyterian of Plano. The doctor is Richard Kaye. Can be contacted at 972-981-7783. I started seeing him March 2005 when I found out I was pregnant with my son. He really is an amazing doctor, can be protective of his patients...which can get annoying at times when he threatened to put me in the hospital a few times when I was pregnant due to excessive swelling. But it's protective in a good way! My Mom and sister also go to him. He walked my Mom through her cancer scare and in the process has earned the loyalty of my entire family in the area. Quick example...I was scheduled for a c-section on 12/8/05...my water broke the Sunday before (12/4). He was not the doctor on call that weekend. The doctor on call didn't want to do my csection without first seeing if I could deliver my son vaginally. She didn't believe the sonogram that said my son was just short of 10lbs (I'm only 5'2); she swore he was only 8lbs ish. He came into the hospital to do the surgery himself on his day off! To make it even more above and beyond to me...his family had just gotten home with their Christmas Tree and was starting to decorate. Turns out the doctor on call was wrong and my doc was right. My son was 9lbs 13 oz 19 inches long. He was so large that he never dropped into the birth canal....there would of been no way for me to deliver him vaginally.
I was diagnosed with PCOS 7/3/07. Instead of giving me the run around and telling me to lose weight first (I'm 250 lbs atm). He is treating me. I have an appointment tomorrow to do my blood work to start metformin. I'm new to PCOS so I don't have much experience with how he handles the treatment he gives; however, after reading some of the horror stories of other people not getting their doc's to listen I am even more grateful to have a doctor that is listening. One last thing, as a plus size women I can tell you that he does not make me feel uncomfortable about my weight. He is ok with my DH and I trying to conceive #2 at my size. He didn't even blink. So if you are plus size, you don't have to worry about him having a negative attitude. I am TTC right now, but even if I wasn't he gave me options to help with PCOS. I hope this helps. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to let me know!!
