Default Does this add up girls?

Question.. I had my D & C on Sept 24 (god its been that long.. ugh) anywho I haven't had my period yet. Here's the thing I'm suppose to be able to start TTC first week of Jan. My doc even has me scheduled for an apt to get clomid Jan 5th. I called to get progesterone to induce a period because I induce and have one at the end of Oct. End of Nov and end of Dec so that would be 3 cycles like they want.

When I called today she said I have to wait at least 8 weeks before they induce and call back middle to end of Nov if I don't get one. Prob is I don't get a natural period like ever, she said the goal is to get one. Okayy but that doesn't really work for someone like me.. UGH.!

So that means I wouldn't be able to TTC till Feb... is there a reason they would do that? I'm confused and kinda hurt now that I have to push this back another month.. so weird

hey thanks I actually called them back today and was like umm yeah I'm confused. She told me I can wait one cycle, meaning I can ttc after 1 period but I have to have at least one period in those 3 months and then i should be good to go. He just wants me to wait the 3 months to heal.. i was like ohhhhhhhh i get it.. so there's no prob

Is there any reason why she is making you wait so long other than "healing"?

I think the advice to wait 1-3 cycles is a bit outdated for some doctors.

My only successful pregnancy was my DD who was conceived the very next cycle after a miscarriage.

Even after this most recent miscarriage, my OB has given me the go ahead to try ASAP. She told me that your body resets itself right away and there is no harm in not waiting.

Emotionally, it's personal though.

did u have a D & C and then concieve your daughter? They told me to wait 3 months to heal and build up a layer... I dunno y they don't have a set time.. Like you said some doc are just outdated. Mine are pretty young but maybe it was just cause of the problems I had in the pregnancy with lots of hemmoraging ... It could be any number of things I suppose... ugh waiting is the hardest part!

They told me the next month too, even with an ectopic. My RE says the 3 month thing is to allow women to "emotionally heal."

that is so weird, a lot of people say they were told one cycle and I've read one is enough. I think your right with the emotional thing, thats what I told my husband..

Either way I have to have one normal cycle, and if not call by first week in Dec so I have a while to wait. My cm is all messed up and I can' tell anything with it and I lost my thermometer so I gotta buy a new one lol.Ahhh lol I love my life

I'm no physician (had to throw that in there *weak smile*), but I do know that the added hormones a recently pregnant woman has can make her more prone to blood clots (perhaps even more so if they were to induce a menstrual cycle). I'm just throwing that out there as a possible reason your docs are waiting... I know my docs, given my family history, are cautious about any birth control methods I choose.
