I do know they are the same drug - the former Brand name; the later generic - but, in your eperience, does one work better than the other? I am asking because I am currently taking Aldactone, but it costs more then sprio and I was thinking of switching to the generic if there isn't any difference. I orignally chose Aldactone over spiro because someone had told me that their doctor said that Aldatone was superior, so I wanted to give to give the drug the best shot. But whose to say that doctor doesn't have stock in the drug or something! lol

Apparently it does. Alot of women say so. You might try a search on here. Put in spironolactone and aldactone.

Aldactone apparently is quoted where as spiro isn't so it's pretty nasty to swallow..
