I am just wondering if anyone else get these. Since it's got hot here, I have an oilier scalp, and I have actual zits/pimples on my scalp, but my hair is dry.
Does anyone else have this problem? If so, what shampoo do you use? I have fine, color treated hair.
Thanks!!

i have never had this happen to me until the last few months... it must have something to do with this horrible heat wave... i have been using hemp shampoo and conditioner from the body shop... http://www.thebodyshop.com
it seems to help so much... sadly this line is being canceled... the girls from the store i shop at recommended that i use the olive glossing shampoo that they sell when i run out of the hemp... i trust what they tell me... hope this helps...
This has happened to me the last few years. For me, it goes along with changes in the weather, esp in the spring & early summer. This year it lasted a lot longer - prob from the heat. My head gets really itchy at the same time so I tried leaving my conditioner on longer in the shower before rinsing & it seems to help quite a bit. I also try as hard as I can not to pick & scratch at my scalp all the time(which just makes it worse)... I'm sure my DH is grossed out by this too!

This has just started happening to me. It's driving me crazy! Plus I get so greasy that I have to take a shower before I go to bed or I can't sleep and then when I wake up. It seems like I can't go 12 hours with out washing my hair or it's like an oil slick!

I don't have an oily scalp and I don't believe it has anything to do with the heat. I think it's hormonal. I get a couple blemishes on my scalp regularly and then they go away.

I don't have an oily scalp either and i get the zits as well from time to time. they usually go away on their own but i also keep the conditioner in for longer. And keep those hands AWAY from your scalp!!
I also notice that when i'm really stressed then my scalp gets more and more itchy and i wanna scratch (esp on my forehead) but i do try no to scratch.

~I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once~
Just my 2 cents.... I've notice I get them when I don't scrub my scalp well enough with shampoo... I have to wash my hair everyday because it gets oily, but I have to use lots of conditioning because it is also coarse. If I don't get the product residue off my scalp it itches and I get pimples, esp on the back of my neck. I've also started separately rinsing under my neck, the back of my neck, my shoulders, and my back to get any conditioner off of them... I've quit getting pimples on my back by doing this. HTH!

I haven't a oily scalp either and I shampoo my hair and massage my scalp really well. Plus, once a week I use a clarifying shampoo which makes my hair and scalp squeeky clean - literally.
It doesn't seem to get worse in the summer, either, although oftentimes I shower twice a day because the humidity makes my hair and body feel gross.

See after I wash my hair it squeaks too, so it' snot like I'mnot washing or rinsing it good enough. This has just started happening since I went off BCP and spiro in prep for TTC.

This is how I am. My scalp itches quite a bit with weather changes-especially when we go into the fall and winter- I guess from the weather being more dry.
I have pimples sometimes around my hairline on my neck, but I also get them just in my scalp. It is soooo hard not to pick at them.
I have tried using dandruff shampoo to see if it makes it better. It makes my scalp feel a little better, but the rest of my hair is very dry.
Scalp pimples and bumps can be caused by a wide variety of things, notthe least of which are allergic reactions to the harsh chemicals (in shampoo, conditioner, hair treatments or dyes). In addition(specifically in males) these pimples can be caused by an over-abundance of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in his scalp.
Needless to say, simply experimenting with other hair treatments would be the obvious course of action if you suspect allergies, but to combat a DHT problem one should consult a dermatologist and obtain dihydrotestosterone inhibitor such as Propecia that can be applied like a cream or shampoo.
