Exclamation DOes anyone have an extremely high DHEA Sulfate count?

My dr. said mine was 705 and that was back in Jan. I was seeing another dr then and she didnt mention anything to me, just put me on LoestrinFE, well I changed to a specialist with reporductive problems and he said my level was really high and so he had me get another test done. He said it is the cause of my low good cholosterol and all my hair growth. He changed me to Yaz and said I do not need metformin right now since my glucose levels were great. I have noticed since I have been letting my hair on my head grow long I am losing a lot, I am always having to unclog the bathtub drain, and clean out my hair brush. I go back on aug. 18th for a follow up, but was just wondering if anyone else's numbers were that high?

Hi. My DHEA-S is 436. My cholesterol is high and my good cholesterol is too low. My doctor did say that high DHEA-S and high cholesterol go hand in hand. I am being treated with Glumetza and I am hypothyroid so I am taking synthroid. I haven't had my levels rechecked so I have no clue if they have changed. It is such a confusing thing. I haven't been able to find too much about DHEA-s on the internet. I'm losing a lot of hair too!

My number were 900 +. My doctor said that high DHEA levels go hand in hand with PCOS. I did a 24 hr urine test to measure my cortisol levels to rule out cushings.

Default Very, very high DHEA-S

My levels were 800 last April and now are at 1600. My doctor is sending me to an endocrinologist, finally. Really worried about such extremely high level. I will post assoon as I get my results from any tests the endo does.

Ditto for what Rosie said... i had a really high DHEAS level...can't remember the exact number, but I think it was over 600. My endo also had to do a urine test to rule out Cushings, which I was negative for. Hair loss is my biggest problem though, so maybe it is directly related to that...

according to my dr., dhea or dheas is prduced in the adrenal glands, if they are elevated there might be a adrenal issue. mine were borderline and i had some elevated 17-OH-progesterone, which is an other indicator for some adrenal issue, so my dr did an ATCH (or so) -test to rule out LOCAH (late onset congenital adrenal hyperplasia). fortunaltely the test came back fine and my dr. said that the adrenal androgens can be elevated as well with PCOS. but maybe you want to ask your dr. about your adrenal glands being checked.
