Question does anyone have head pressure?

Does anyone ever get the sensation of pressure in your head? It's hard to describe because it doesn't hurt like a headache, it just feels like there is something (or someone) trying to push its way out of my ears and head. I descibe it to my neurologist and my internal med doc, but neither one seems to be able to figure it out. I've had numerous blood tests, a few MRIs, and alot of other tests and tried all kinds of meds, but the pressure always seems to come back. I used to think that maybe it was the bcps, so I stopped them and the pressure subsided, so I thought I had it beat. But then the pressure started to come back and I thought it was from my job, because I sit at a desk all day and type. Not a very stressful situation, but a lot of tension in neck and shoulders. Started doing yoga and stretching everyday, feels great, but I still have the pressure and seems to get worse if I do to much strenuous yoga (like lots of being upside down). I just wondered if anyone else experiences this feeling because I'm really tired of having this pressure.

I am not sure what I experience is something you can call pressure. I have moments when it feels like the inside of my head sort of feels like, this is going to sound weird, acid or something like that with a slight ache accompanying that feeling, or sometimes my brain feels like cotton. I told you its going to sound weird, but my guess is it has to do with some of the meds I am on. I am on glucophage XR, bcp, spironolactone, and vitamins. Sorry I wasn't of much help. I sure do hope you find out soon what the trouble is.

I was also taken off BCP's because of a similar problem but I also got severe migraines. I have been an awful lot better since but still get this pressure/headache with sickness about once a week still. My doctors are still looking into it also. Not sure if it's the same thing as yours but if they come up with anything else I will post it I know how frustrating it can be when it happens all the time x

I know exactly that feeling. Mine however was due to high blood pressure I did not know I had. I was put on medication, benicar, & suddenly the "pressure" was gone. How has your blood pressure readings been? Just a thought...

i also experienced this kind of excruciating pressure and thought it was tension. turns out that mine was blood pressure as well. next time you have it, check it right away whole the pain is still there. my drs office will do it for free & all you have to do is walk in & ask.

take it seriously, 'cause a 33 year old friend of mine is recovering from a stroke caused by untreated high BP.

Be well.

thanks for the replies ladies, I'm glad (but sorry also) that others have the same problem...

as for the blood pressure, I do have slightly high blood pressure, not in the severe range though. I take propranolol for the blood pressure and so far every reading I've had has seemed to be normal at the time. When I take it at home with a machine I own it also reads okay, with sometimes the diastolic (lower number) being a little high. I don't really know what this means, but I go back to all my docs next month and will see about it. The weird thing is I don't have it all the time, it like comes and goes. It does worry me about my blood pressure though and it can't be a good thing to be worrying about it either, probably raises it too. having pressure right now and blood pressure it okay. what to do, what to do...
