Question does anyone know if daycare assistance

Good Morning Ladies,

I was just wondering if you adopt through the county if they would assist with daycare expenses? I've been told they help with medical which would be great but I'm not sure about daycare? I would only need assistance for maybe 2-3 days a week.

I don't know what part of the country you life in, or the laws in your state, but my husband and I are starting the adoption process through a private agency that places kids from social services in adoptive homes. This sounds like what you are doing. Here, you must provide insurance for your adopted child once they become yours, however I think there may be some exceptions in the case of special needs children. Also, here we have something called the adoption assistance program that gives the parents some money ( I don't know how much) after the adoption. Again I think this applies to special needs kids, but I am not sure, we haven't gotten all that paperwork yet. As far as daycare assistance, I am absolutely sure we don't have that here, but ask your social worker and see what he or she says.

We are going through foster to adopt and I know they provide Medicaid and Wic so you can get formula if you have a baby. At the information meeting they said you can get day care assistance but you have to apply for it quick because once the funds run out, they don't give anymore out until the next year.

Good luck!!!!!!!

We adopted from The Children's Homes Society. We received free childcare for 3 months. After the three months, because financially, we do not qualify for anything for free, we were on our own.

Our son does receive medicaid, which , frankly is useless. None of his Rx's for ADHD are covered. We'll be dropping the Medicaid this year. But he also has a full scolorship to any Florida State college , university or tech school. Which is huge!

Good Luck
