birth control pills can work like provera ? If you take it for a few days and then stop , have a period? I had an appointment with what was suppose to be a gyno today and I came back home to get a message that they accidently gave me an appointment with their nurse midwive! They gave me an appointment with a gyno but it's not for almost three weeks and I am already into 110 days of a cycle. My periods were normal until I got really ill in may but then no period and thats making me really concerned , plus dh and are ttc! My cycles were doing well at about 33-35 days and now...nothing. My cousin told me to take a bcp for 5 days and then a cycle should start. She said her physician told her to do it when her cycles get out of whack..she also has pcos.

I am just curious if anyone else has done this and does it work ?

I don't think so. My doctor only gives me Provera to start a period. I've never heard of BCP being used to start one.

I've done it. It works for me. I take just one birth control pill, then exacly 5 days later I get my period.
