hello all,
i'm new to this forum, but certainly not to PCOS. I've had my dx for nearly 20 yrs. though for the first 15 yrs i thought it was just a fertility problem, i've since learned that all of my other health problems, high cholesterol, difficulty managing weight, acne, and most recently hair thinning are all related. on the up again, down again, scale that is my life, i'm currently down by 20 lbs and have 10-15lbs more to be ideal weight. recently began seeing a new endo that i like. she has me on metformin and spiro. weight seems to be stable at the moment, skin improving greatly, but no real sign of improvement on the hair thinning. i've read on this forum several of you were beginning to try new products, just wondering if anyone can report any real results yet?
From my personal experience of having seen derms, endocs, docs homeopaths etc etc NOTHING has worked in slowing, halting or regrowing my shed or hair loss ....
Its been so traumatic I cant even think straight some days ....

My hair is growing back, im taking iron, metformin, vit B6 and 12, vit C, omega 3, 6 and 9, multivit, l-lysine and am using minoxidil 6% and estradiol on my scalp. Im not sure what exactly is making it grow back but one of them is working!
I think its just male pattern baldness. My hair has thinned out all over but its only noticeable at the front. Ive got a lot of hairs growing in along my hairline and its is also getting thicker at the sides.

Apparently, there is no tried and true method that works for a lot of people reliably and permanently. Many different things seem to help a few people who use them. It is hit and miss, you you simply have to try things and see if you happen to be one of the relatively small number of people that any one particular treatment helps. It's extremely frustrating and heartbreaking. Look at it this way, if there were a good, reliable method for dealing with hairloss, would you see a single bald man walking around?
I wear wigs. They're great.
