Alliance,
Canker sores are not a typical symptom of diabetes, nor are they directly related in anyway, although diet may play some part in them (ie: poor nutirition).

There are many reasons for cankers, allergies, hormonal changes (women) the use of mouthwash and toothpastes containing an ingredient called Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Certain food additives may cause cankers.

I guess u need to evaluate what u are putting in ur mouth lol.

Take care
Pam

Iron defficiency can also cause canker sores in the mouth. Maybe you should check to be sure your iron levels are ok.

Changes in your diet could also be the culprit and I find that if I have something acidic I have a tendancy to get canker sores. Also a virus can cause them. My DH has them all the time and he's not diabetic.
