Default does glucose results tell if you are IR ?

I am a bit confused on Insulin Resistance ... and how you know if you are.

I feel that i am, have not been properly diag . with anything yet except to say i have a 'metabolic syndrome' what ever that really means/??

I had my lab work done and my glucose was 88.0 mg/dL (ref range 70.0-99.0) which means I am normal right? but does this tell me if I am IR or no?

any help for the newbie greatly appreciated ...

Hey,

I'm new too, and just wanted to say that I am equally confused about IR!

I was just given a link to read, and apparently your blood pressure and cholesterol levels, as well as if you're obese, can play a role in an IR dx.

I was told I was IR by my endo, but I don't know why - I'm guessing it's my cholesterol, waist size, and glucose levels...but I am not considered diabetic.
Again, I don't know...

Cheers,
K

Here is some very good info on IR: http://www.medreviews.com/cme_progra.../faq.asp?nav=6

What has worked best for my IR has been Met. XR, a lower processed carb diet, cinnamon and weightloss.
