I'm asking because I usually let my stuff grow out when I knowa gyno visit is coming, but i have a surprise visit on tuesday, and I don't have time to get anything but a stubble, and i'd rather be completely shaved than stubbly! But i'm worried about my razor bumps. Should he ask about them? Or ask me why I shave anyway? I don't know why, but I hate explaining to doctors the reasons I can't stand pubic hair, and it's mortifying (to me, at least) when they ask about it. Do you think he'll say anything?

I had one tell me once that it stops me from keep my natural scent...I mean I know it is supposed to have a smell but it feels cleaner to me that way.
I've never had a dr straight ask WHY...it's a personal preference and shouldn't really be a big thing.

My Mood: Points: 1,423.33 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,423.33 | OMG, this just made me remember something. My best friend in high school went to her 3rd or 4th gyno visit at this clinic and the WOMAN who was performing her pap smear completely went off on why in the hell would anyone shave their pubic hair. Could not get it and wouldn't. Needless to say, my friend never saw that doctor ever again and felt so attacked and degraded.
I personally like to have some hair down there, just not a jungle. But hey, as many vajayjays they look at, they probably don't really care for the most part. Luckily, I've always had gynos who were...pardon the expression...in and out. And you know what, I don't really care about letting them see my razor bumps...anytime I shave, I'm going to get them. Heck...maybe I should, maybe they could give me some tips on what to do to reduce them!

I just don't want him to see my scars from my HS or the razor bumps and assume it's some sort of STD (I don't even know if there IS an std that looks like razor bumps or hidradenitis suppurativa. hmm)
eek.

I know it isn't fun but the more you relax the easier it'll be...

Easier for him to see things and cleaner.
I would not worry.
I think most women if they have caorse or thick hair down there which alot of women with PcOS do - we often get infected follicles...
Where as thinner haired girls down there do not...
I would not worry.Either way is fine
he is not paid to comment about your hair. he is paid to assist you with medical issues as you pay him.

As far as the HS scarring goes, my dr recognized them for what they were and prescribed a liquid erythromycin to put on them as soon as one begins.

My Mood: Points: 3,771.36 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 3,771.36 | I've had a smear when I've had razor bumps and slightly ingrown hairs before. I think doctors can usually tell the difference between shaving issues/ingrown hairs and say, herpes, on first glance. So they won't think anything of it I'm sure.

I like no hair down there, and I always wonder whether my gyno will say something about it soo I too let a little grow in. I know I shouldn't care because it's not their business but I guess I just feel self conscious.
I hate paps!!
