I have been trying to do low carb but I find I get fatigued ..but when i do normal eating I get massive belly, frequent trips to he loo, thirsty, blurey eyes...

I dont know what to do..

I have to stay away from wheat, sugar etc and dairy as they all make me 10000000..ssss times worse...

So trying to have little bit brown rice for breakfast...lunch brown rice and veg and tuna..

Meat and veg in the evenings....

I should get results of my blood sugar tests this week i'll keep you posted..

IR can give you a large belly and fatigue after eating, but frequent urination, thirst, and eyesight problems are definitely more indicative of diabetes.

The only thing I would suggest is getting it checked out, but since you already have, good luck with the results!

Are you sure that you don't have any food allergies? Lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance maybe. They can give swollen belly and a lot of problems.

Hope you find an answer.

Did they tell you exactly what the number was?

Absolutely do NOT NOT NOT go carb free!

Think of your body as if it were a car, and carbs are gasoline.

If you don't put any gas in your car your car will run like crap then stall and stop running completely.

And if the gas you put in is too rich, say....leaded gasoline.....the car still won't run right.

And if you fill the tank and only use ten gallons the rest will sit there.

So if you don't eat any carbs your body can not function. Now, in a "normal" person their body compensates for the total lack of carbs and continues to run. If your glucose metabolism is not working right (as in insulin resistant, reacitve hypoglycemia, pre-diabetes, diabetes) then when you don't eat any carbs at all if the right systems don't kick in you go hypoglycemic and that can be very dangerous. More dangerous than taking in too many carbs.

So do NOT go without eating or without eating any carbs.

That fasting glucose test might pick it up....it is a test often given by good ole boy doctors who graduated medical school 20 years ago, have a wealth of experience and don't specialize in diabetes. IF that test comes back showing no problems then demand an oral glucose tolerance test (GTT) just to be sure.

Do you own a glucose meter? You can buy the walmart brand one for aboout $30 and a tube of 50 strips for about $30.....then you could use it to test your own blood glucose when you feel all freaky and sick.

Can you tell us what you eat in a normal day? And drink? And how much activity you get? Like today....what did you eat and drink today?

My best cures for a sad tummy is oatmeal porridge with flaxseed's of yogurt. Thats a good way to start the morning even if you're on low carb diet. If you wanna have more protine add nuts and cottage cheese. If you let nuts lie over night in water they are easier to digest.

Depending on you're problem blueberry soup is good for a loose stomach.

I agree. Don't go on a no carb diet.

I belive the kinds of diets like South Beach diet or The Greek droctors diet http://www.drlindbergs.com/page/inde...d=-1&joinid=-1

I think Atkins and those kinds can be dangerous.

Good Luck!

I avoid most processed carbs. That's where the problem for cyster mainly is. Fruits and veggies (except for taters) are important to the diet.

Wow....you've got a LOT going on. At least half of what you're saying does NOT sound like diabetes. Mind you, I'm not a doctor. When I was dx'ed with diabetes I had no health insurance and could not afford to travel to see an endo, or take diabetes education classes or see a dietician. The first doc's office I was at had two docs and they both saw me at different times that first two months and told me completely opposite things!!!

So to save myself I had to teach myself all about diabetes and everything related to it so that I could be my OWN best advocate. I found a doctor who works with me and didn't treat me like a child who stole cookies! lol

So I am not a doctor and everybody's body is different. But from what I've experienced and seen in my groups most of your symptoms do not sound like they are related to diabetes.

It sounds like you've got three or four things going on at once, actually.

I don't know much about the candida problems, but I thought a round of medicine and special diet usually took care of that? I guess not or you'd have done that already.

As for celiac -- I only know one person who has it, and him not very well. But I thought it was a lifetime thing, not something that would go away?

My diet has 30g carbs in meals and 15g in snacks, three meals, two to three snacks. So if you're getting about that then you aren't going to be going too low on your carbs.

One thing I strongly suggest that you do is get a notebook.
Write down EVERYTHING. Write down what you eat, drink, the meds you take at what time, the symptoms you have and how you feel, any excercise you get, and just generally what's going on around you. You could be having a reaction to something in your diet, or this could all be a side effect of something else going on in your body, OR you could be reacting to something in your environment.

By keeping a journal you can help to track down any patterns that you haven't seen before between symptoms and times, foods and environmental stimuli.

Please let us know how you're doing!
