    Default Does Met expire?

The bottle I have is left over from being filled 10/2004. I am wondering this because Met is just not working for me like it use too. My periods were quite regular when I was on it before now they are regular...sometimes...

Also, it does not seem to be helping me lose weight either. Of course I don't eat as well as I should.

I have a newer prescription I think I'm going to start taking those instead and see if it makes any difference.

Anyway, thanks for any help you can give me.

Most pharmaceuticals have an expiry date of at least two years. A Rx from 2004 should still work as well, but taking the new one is probably the best idea.

Shelf life of metformin is 5 years according the the websites I read, so the quality shouldn't be an issue at all.

What about your lifestyle? Has your diet or exercise aspects changed? Met did not work as well for me when I slacked in these areas, so I would investigate that.

    Hope it helps!

I was afraid that would be the answer. My diet is awful and I pretty much never exercise. I wish I had the will power I had 3 years ago when I first went on Met. *sigh*

    Thanks girls.
