Default Does Met make it hard for you to get Life Insurance?

My endo just gave me an RX for Met (also Spiro) on 09/24. I have been taking it since that night. Got the RX done at Walgreens.

Well a friend of mine, she told me one of her clients in her shop (she does electrolysis) told her "don't get Met if you want to get life insurance. They will consider you a high risk and that you are diabetic". This friend only takes Spiro and won't take Met since she wants to get life insurance. She wanted to get me some Met over the border but I told her I already bought it from Walgreens.

I have life insurance through my work...however if I ever worked on my own, I was wondering if there is truth to what she is saying and you gals are the only ones I can ask. My friends all say "yeah, well it sounds valid".

BTW, after some ah...well "dumping" (you know what I am talking about) that is clearing up and I have MORE ENERGY already. I am feeling better.

Wink

That is a question we will have to face soon....if my dh's job changes. I would think that if you got a letter of some sort from your doctor, explaining that you are not diabetic, and that you are taking the medication as treatment for another disorder, I would think that would help the situation. Unfortunately, sometimes they do make the assumption that you must have the disease if you are taking the meds. The use of met for treatment of PCOS is a relatively new thing, and it is not yet the standard of treatment for us. If you do run into problems, I would try to get that letter, and see if it helps to clear things up. Let us know how you make out!

Talking Thx KY Bluegrass

Hey KY Bluegrass, I got your PM reply to my PM the other day, thank you for your kind support!

I am not going to be going out on my own anytime soon, but the thought has crossed my mind that I know enough about my line of work I could be a reseller if I wanted to, just something I have pondered.

Pls let me know what your experience is!
