Hello all! I just had a hysterectomy with both ovaries removed about a month ago. My question is and it's probably going to sound silly but since my ovaries are gone....do I still have PCOS? I haven't been able to find out any information on that. I was just wondering if I will still have all the symptons. Thanks!
I cant really clarify, but yes you are still going to have it. It is not only centered around your ovaries. It is a syndrome that we will have for the rest of our lives - sad to say.

Like everyone above me said it's an endoctorine syndrome. As well as it's a syndrome with syndromes the only thing you can do is control the symptomes. Yes they call it pcos, but it's not just with the ovaries though it's thought to start there.Other things are invovled with it

This is a good post cause I didn't know that we could have PCOS forever. I hope one day that someone makes a cure for PCOS so we can all get better.

I am having a hysterectomy with bilateral ovary removal June 20. I know that my moods will be better because of it but I think the other symptorms of PCOS will remain--hirutism, weight issues ect due to the endocrine disorder.

Lived a life going to doctors that had no understanding of PCOS--which was mistakably called bi-polar, OCD, depression, hypomanic and more....
