Default Does PCOS give you dry skin?

I'm just curious...My skin is always extremely dry. My feet appear like some one who has diabetes. I just want to know does dry skin and PCOS go hand in hand?

Dry skin could be a sign of any number of things. Best to talk to your doctor.

I have had extremely dry skin in the winter for the last 8 years and my skin is usually a little dryer than most other people in the summer, especially my calves after shaving. But my mom, sister, and grandmother all have/had dry skin as well as others in my family, so I think mine is just genetics.

I tried the Satin Hands Cream from Mary Kay. It's awesome. I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant, and I'm not trying to promote a sale, but the satin hands is really GREAT. I have really chapped hands too, plus I work in the hospital so that's extra added dryness. When I started using Satin Hands from Mary Kay my hands are soft and smooth, plus they are not dry. You can also use it on your feet. Check out the website below for more information on it. I will also mail out samples if you want.

Not here! From what I have read, it is more common for us to have oily skin than dry skin.

I have dry skin also, it really sucks. I do have an oily face most of the time, but occasionally I get a dry face also. Usually its my body which is dry and itchy. I can't use products with fragrance or I will break out.

I've got hypothyroidism and one of the side effects of that is dry skin. I think Kat's right, best to ask your doctor.

I am the same way. I am heck of dry. (I was dx with Exzcema) I am also very allergic to fragrances. I cant even be around it. I break out with massive headaches and congestion.

PCOS has always given my oily skin, oily everything because of the high testosterone.

I have very dry skin, it used to be oily when I was younger.

I saw this link Topical evening primrose oil for unwanted hair??

so I got some EPO pills punctured them and applied them to my face for the hair problem, it felt so good I thought I'll try it on my dry scaly forehead and scalp, the difference in only a couple of applications is amazing at least on the dry skin front! I hope it eventually helps the hair too.

I have really dry skin on my feet. I do know that the Satin Hands set by Mary Kay is fantastic (off topic, so is their satin lips set too!). I've been using a pumice stone to scrub my dry skin off on my feet so they'll be softer... or getting my husband to do it, ha.

I have really dry skin, and I think it's indirectly connected to PCOS in my case. I have really bad acne due to PCOS so I use a lot of acne products that can be drying (like bye bye blemish)

If you're dry skin is that bad I would go to the doctor, maybe a special cream could be prescribed or it could indicate an additional health issue like Mindijean wrote.
