If someone had hypothyroidism though would the dry skin also appear in the summer, or could it be only in the winter time? I get awful dry patches on my face in the winter even with pounds of moisturizer, scrubbing and/or not washing my face with tons of soap... I've tried everything, and with makeup the patches just look a million times worse. I also get dry skin on my body but not really patches like on my face.

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 6 mos before being diagnosed with PCOS. I had a lot of problems with dry skin before starting a thryoid med. Thyroid problems and PCOS aren't an unusual combination so I would ask your Dr. next time you go in. Just a simple blood test and if that's it, it's an easy fix!!

Just thought I would let everyone know the St.Ives products are the best! Not only for moisture for face and body but their face soaps and scrubs are the only thing that helps my acne the best!

I agree with Princess, the st ives lotions, scrubs, etc are fantastic! I use them all the time. However, I don't like the oiliness of most creams so I use True Blue Spa's "Lay it on Thick" from Bath and Bodyworks. It is a concentrated form of shea butter that lasts for a long time and keeps my skin really soft and doesn't feel oily. Sometimes the smell is a little strong for me, as it smells like chocolate coconut, (I hate coconut) which is the natural fragrance of the shea butter.
