Default Does this sound like AN?

Since I was in my late teens my under arm area was darkened and I had the 'dirty' splotches on my upper stomach area. I never really worried about it too much and assumed it was Acanthosis Nigricans until about a year ago. The skin on my upper stomach and between my breasts started to get really rough with alot of flaky patches. I also got these under my arms, but not in the fold so much as down near the sides of my breasts. Now I'm not sure if this really is AN because in all the pictures I see on the net it's located in different areas and usually on people with darker skin so I can't compare. I have really fair skin and the patches are like a peachy brown color. I don't want to go to a doctor for this since I don't have insurance at the moment so I was hoping to get some input here first.

I have Acanthosis Nigricans and where the dark patches (mostly on my chest and between my cleavage) are my skin is really flaky.

I also don't have insurance, but when I did my doctor (who's just a general practioner) couldn't tell me what it was. I had to do a lot of researching and finally found out it was AN. Everyone has different variations of it.

Thanks for the reply! I was a little worried because the AN descriptions I read never mentioned flaky skin. Glad it's normal and not anothing thing to worry about on top of everything else!
