Default Does Spiro decrease sweating?

I have a problem with excessive sweating all the time... for 4 years now. Tons from the head and scalp and lots everywhere else. I am so tired of dealing with this. I"m hopeless.
Does spironolactone decrease sweating? I take Yaz... but I think my progesterone is still too low. Any ideas. I am desperate to get rid of this problem.... very embarassing/debilitating/depressing. It's consuming me. Please help.

I do wear and MAO-I patch called EMSAM. It's not supposed to make you sweat. Thats why I went off of the SSRI's. I've only been on it for about 2 1/2 weeks now and my sweating hasn't subsided a bit. I have heard that spiro helps sometimes.... I just need encouagement and hope....

It's so hard to cope with being wet all the time. It's very embarassing and uncomfortable. Plus, I suffer from anxiety and depression and it just makes it worse.

I totally relate and its just horrible..I'm not sure if this new anti-d is helping causing me to sweat or not, as I have come down with a cold, so it could be a slight temp....praying its not the anti -D

All serotonin reuptake inhibitors and seritonin/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors cause the side effect of sweating. That's why I swichted to an MAO-I. I was hoping this would solve my problem, but after 3 weeks, it hasn't.

the best thing in the entire world for sweating is this deodorant called MAXIM. just look it up because you can order it online. it's a little itchy/tingly the first 2 or 3 times.. but it really works!!

I sweat a lot too. It is so embarrassing. I wish there was soemthing to stop it. I thought it was because I was big, but I don't know anymore after reading this.

I sweat all the time too, my face, head, underarm, back, groin, butt. You name it I'm sweating there. It can be ice cold outside and I'm sweaty.

I have anxiety and depression too, sweating like this only make it worse. It adds paranoia to the mix. Nobody ever says anything about my sweating but I can tell they are looking, then I feel like I have to explain that I have an intolerance to tempurature changes? Uh, who knows what it is, I just feel compelled to say something when I am the only sweating when it is 50 degress outside.

I'm pretty sure I read a post from Kat, that said you can apply Certain Dry to the forehead to reduce sweating. It cautioned it can irritate sensitive skin. I did this before class last Saturday and had an decrease is forehead sweating y at least 60%. To bad I can't take a bath in the stuff.

For me it isn't my SSRI because I stopped taking then and still have this horrible constant sweatathon going on. My sister used to take this medication that stopped the sweaty side effects of SSRI, I can't remember the name. I'm going to ask her about, I know it had a lot of side effects, but may it would work for us. If I find you more about it I will post another response.

Good luck, let me know if you find something that works.
