Does thyroid treatment help pcos symptoms? Hi there -
I was diagnosed hypothyroid last summer and tried armour briefly. I think it was too much for my system and made me hyper for a bit.
I'm now seeing an actual thyroid specialist who also agrees that I'm slightly hypothyroid and found some irregularities in the size and shape of my thyroid as well as a couple nodules.
He's opting to not treat me at the moment because I've been experiencing some anxiety that has been hell to try and control. I've just started an antidepressant so hopefully that will take care of it some.
Anyway, I can't help but keep thinking whether or not I should push a little harder to treat this. Also afraid of rocking the boat if I it won't make a difference.
I've heard some others on here mention their thyroid levels affecting things like hirsutism and hairloss. Two of my worst symptoms.
I think I may be having a little success from metformin and flutamide, but really want to stop this stuff as dead in its tracks as I can.
Also, I seem to have more hyper symptoms like unexplained weight loss that I can't seem to figure out. I'm now lower than I've ever weighed and drop weight almost too easily. This has NEVER been an issue before this year. In fact I had to work my butt off to maintain a normal weight before. So I don't know what to make of this. I'm worried that it may be playing a role in my hairloss. I also have very loose stools in the am (sorry tmi) which is also a hyperthyroid symptom, but I'm most definitely hypo thyroid.
