I am moving forward with the Lap-band. Yeah! I am thrilled. My "graduation" from pre surg classes will be in March with the procedure by April.

Thanks for all your answers and support.

I love my lapband! I have no sugar intolerances, funny thing is I can't eat most breads. Thats ok. I am a carb addict, learning to live without them

Hey Amanda (and others)

I am new to the soul cysters but I am so grateful I have found this support outlet. I just wanted to tell you that I have lap band and it is really changing my life. I had surgery on March 3, 2008 and so far I have lost 28 lbs. I feel like for the first time that I am going to succeed at losing weight and at helping to correct some of the PCOS issues. I am already seeing a difference in the extra hair growth and my skin looks better than it has in years without that pesky acne. I am not TTC but I am confident that lap band is going to greatly help me when the time comes to try.

some advice:
1 every lap band patient is different so don't compare your success with others because it happens so differently for everyone.

2 Weight lose will be slower that you want at times. Just remember it is a marathon, not a sprint!

3 This will change your relationship with food completely. My mother-in-law also has lap band and before my surgery she was telling me all about how differently she looks at food. I thought i understood but I only recently "got it". I don't look at food anymore as something that will taste good, I first think to myself "can I get this down?" Please don't get discouraged! This is natural and actually quite liberating because I am not ruled by my next meal. Just keep your head up and those eyes on the prize!

I am so happy that you are taking this step for your health! I wish you the best and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
